I-5 Steep grade just north of California called the 'Grapevine'. High winds and snow in the winter!
Hwy 150 in California Ventura area just north of Los Angeles. Winding with steep hills here and there. Not recommended for RVers. Stay on the 101.
Route 33 CA - Usually a shortcut from Ventura, CA north towards Maricopa. Avoid this route with an RV. Steep 6,000 ft climbs and winding road
Hwy 154 Santa Barbara, CA - 2,500 ft steep climb heading north from Santa Barbara, CA
Route 166 in California. From Maricopa, CA west bound towards Santa Maria

Do not go in or out of Death Valley, CA from the west side! Steep grades and tight turns. Enter Death Valley from the East! Not sure if south way is open anymore - flooding destroying the roads, repeatedly.
US 108 from Sonora Junction in the east towards Mona Vista, CA in the west
US 50 from Placerville, CA in the west heading east Meyer, CA - steep hills up to 5,500 ft
I - 80 north bound from Colfax, CA to Truckee California. Steady climb of approximately 4,000 ft
Route 175 from Hopland over the mountains to Finley, CA - Steep grades and dangerous curves
Hwy 20 from Hwy 101 CA. to Fort Bragg (Glass Beach) California, good road but 28 miles of tight turns and steep grades. Driving a Ford F250, not an enjoyable drive would not want to make the trip again as you have to drive back, we were camped in Ukiah, CA.
US 299 - Douglas City to Redding, CA - Steep down and uphills

Deadman Pass is a mountain pass at an elevation of 3,631ft above the sea level, located in Oregon, USA
Drivers attempting to negotiate the pass are in for a challenge: Heading northwest, you're forced to climb more than 2,000 feet in elevation that's chock-full of double-hairpin turns, as well as 6 percent grades.

UT Route 261 in Utah from Mexican Hat to Cedar Mesa, UT - It's recommended that vehicles over 28-feet long or over 10,000 pounds don't attempt to traverse this road. The 10 percent grade is really, really steep.
Hwy 89 going north from Mt Camel Junction, UT - steady climb of about 3,000 ft.
UT-148 and 143 route in UT from the State Route 14 to Parowan in northern Utah. Steep hill and grades. Avoid if you can

Windy and steep hills on the U.S. 40 in Colorado west of Denver
US 40 becomes a treacherous mountain highway
featuring steep descents and sharp curves
Absolutely no vehicles over 35 feet in length
(this includes a vehicle and trailer that, together, exceed 35 feet)
may use the Pass at any time.
The Trail Ridge Road is the highest paved through road
in Colorado and it is also the highest paved road in
Colorado that crosses the continental divide
Cottonwood Pass - The road is fully paved on both sides
It is also the highest pass with an improved road in the state
The twisty road is considered to be especially
treacherous during the winter months. A steep,
steady 6.7% grade, along with numerous hairpin turns
on either side, make it difficult to snowplow the road regularly
Hoosier Pass - The road over the pass has a smooth approach
on the south side but has several switchbacks on the north side
with a grade of 8%.
Fremont Pass - Despite being one of the highest mountain
passes in the state, the only steep part is the switchback
on the final ascent toward the Climax mine
on the south side. The rest of the pass is gentle.
This stretch through the gorge is challenging
and potentially hazardous to drive; it is characterized
by steep cliffs, narrow lanes, and a lack of guardrails
Grand Mesa - On the north side, the road climbs
the steep terrain near the Powderhorn Resort ski area.
La Manga Pass
McClure Pass - A scenic drive indeed, the road travels
right next to the famed Crystal River, known for thrilling
whitewater river running.
